if u were wondering what it’s like to travel with me/know me in general, I just left my wallet at the metro station on my way to catch a bus to Paris, realized this 25 minutes b4 the bus was supposed to leave, jumped back on the metro, rescued my wallet from the metro cop lost and found, got back on the metro, and literally sprinted onto the bus five minutes before it left. sometimes ppl make fun of me when I tell them the guiding principle of my life is ‘things work out’ but it really helps!
some other things this semester has involved!!
- tonight we found out that the previous academic director was fired halfway through last semester for hitting a student????
- current academic director literally crying to several students about the dissolution of her marriage
- at one point the program just ran out of money?
- a girl on the program hooking up with her 45-year-old advisor, leaving for copenhangen for a week, coming back to four (FOUR) emails from said advisor, then going on a boat date, then “breaking up” at a squat dance party
- that advisor is the polyamorous lover of one of the host moms
- someone else’s host parents are two 19-year-olds
- we had a lecturer who made us all play a privilege walk game thing except the questions were like “have you given a blow job”

do u guys remember when aj found an empty wallet on the beach in california and used it until las vegas where he lost $600 in 2 days and become convinced it was cursed? then he put it in a water fountain in denver so it could return 2 the sea

hey tumblr adults, job advice? i applied for a summer job (in some kind of insane quest to have every low-paying nonprofit job in saint paul, basically) and i got an email back from some dude saying that they read my application and were impressed but had already offered the position to someone else by the time i applied. but that “we look forward to other ways that we could collaborate with you during your senior year.” no further explanation.
whaaat does that mean and how the heck should i respond?

what is your chronic pain? is it long distance running related? i am a baby runner..
left hip gets sore after running for longer than ~40 min, esp if i’m running around a track (i think it’s related to running curves? started during track season last year), if i run longer than like an hour it gets sort of a buzzing feeling while i run, and is sore after. i take ibuprofen and do some strength stuff for it, but w/e. i also have some cute n sexy bunions and those typically hurt after running. lots of girls on my team have had stress fractures, but i’ve never gotten one. oh also a lot of anemia/iron deficiency on the team but running is only one factor there. but the reason injuries are so common among running teams is that we’re running 6 days a week, so it’s an insane level of repetitive stress, and hopefully most ppl who aren’t training for a sport don’t do that cause it’s not very smart! also injuries are common bc girls on the team are reluctant to take time off/cross train when something starts hurting, and then it gets worse.
